Web Devil Update Released

Chaotic Software has released an update for Web Devil, bringing it to version 5.4.1. Web Devil is a Web page download utility designed for offline viewing. The maintenance update includes minor bug fixes. According to Chaotic Software:

Chaotic Software just released Web Devil 5.4.1 to fix problems with redirected URLs on some sites and to fix a problem when prompting for download locations on Mac OS X.

Web Devil is a tool for downloading web sites for offline browsing, extracting web site images, backgrounds, HTML, JavaScript, etc., helping to maintain web sites for content authors, and more. It also has filtering capabilities, so it only downloads what you want, and has a simple to use interface. Just enter a URL and it downloads with a single click. It runs on any PowerPC-based Macintosh running Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X.

Web Devil 5.4.1 change history:

  • Fixed problem with redirected URLs not having the host field updated in the HTTP header, resulting in repeated redirections on multihomed hosts
  • Fixed problem on Mac OS X when prompting for download location and the download being canceled
