Wizzard Software on Thursday said that it will soon make AT&T Natural Voices, a human-like speech synthesis system, available to developers who want to implement the technology in their Mac applications. Currently available to Windows and Linux developers, Natural Voices offers plug-and-play support for English, French, German and Spanish, enabling developers to use the languages they need without having to employ a different engine for each one.
Wizzard cited Mac OS Xis ability to seamlessly integrate text-to-speech into applications, as well as Appleis growing market share, as reasons for bringing Natural Voices to the platform. The company noted that the technology is currently in use in the accessibility, business automation, security and education markets.
