Bare Bones Software on Monday released Yojimbo, a new information organizer that can manage personal data even when itis stored across multiple Macs. Users can take text notes, passwords, bookmarks, serial numbers, PDFs, Web archives and more and copy and paste or drag and drop it into Yojimbo. They can also use the Quick Input panel or PDF Services from the Print menu to import data.
Once entered in Yojimbo, data can be encrypted according to the AES-256 algorithm standard and it can be used with Mac OS X Sync Services to stay current with a .Mac account. In addition, Yojimbo takes advantage of Spotlight searches, as well as its own search engine, and uses Core Data frameworks to store data.
Pricing is US$39 for a single license ($29 for educational users) or $69 for a family pack that contains up to five licenses. Yojimbo requires Mac OS X v10.4.3 and is a Universal Binary, enabling it to run on PowerPC- or Intel-based Macs.
