Adobe announced the immediate availability of Photoshop Elements 9 and Premier Elements 9 for Mac OS X on Tuesday. This marks the first time Premier Elements has been available for the Mac.
Photoshop Elements is Adobe’s consumer-oriented image editing application. Version 9 brings feature parity with the Windows version of Elements, including the Adobe Bridge-like Elements Organizer.
The application includes new Guided Edit options such as Out of Bounds, Pop Art and Reflection, sports a content aware healing brush, and includes a panorama builder that intelligently fills empty portions in images.

It also includes a Photomerge Style tool that applies style effects from one image to another. For example, users can make their images look more like an Ansel Adams photograph by applying a style to their photos.
Photoshop Elements 9 also includes improved tools for sharing images via Facebook and Photoshop.com, and includes a Facebook album builder and controls for managing photo and album privacy settings.
Adobe if also bringing Premier Elements to the Mac for the first time, offering customers a consumer-focused video editing application with built-in DVD authoring tools.
Premier Elements 9 includes a video importer just for digital devices such as Flip video cameras and smartphones, offers support for HD video, can improve image quality for some video compression types, and includes stylized film filters designed to make your movies look like cartoon animations. The application also offers audio enhancement tools that can remove unwanted hiss and improve the overal tonal quality.
Premier Elements also includes built-in DVD authoring tools complete with themes and a menu builder, and the application can create Flash-based “Web DVD” files users that act like regular DVD movie discs, but dont’ require a DVD player.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Premier Elements 9 are priced at US$99 each, or $149 as a bundle. Mac and Windows versions of the applications are included in the same package.
