Apple Adds iTunes Festival Channel to Apple TV for SXSW

Apple added a new iTunes Festival channel to Apple TV over the weekend so its SXSW concert series can be viewed from the comfort of your own couch. Viewers will be able to watch the concerts live, and this marks the first time Apple has hosted an iTunes Festival event outside of London.

The new channel lists the artists that will be playing at the SXSW iTunes Festival, information about the musical acts, show schedules, and some history on the concert series.

The iTunes Festival channel appeared without requiring any software updates, just like previous special channels. A free app for viewing the concerts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is available as a free download at the Apple's App Store, too.

Apple has lined up Willie Nelson, Coldplay, Soundgarden, Keith Urban, Pitbull, and more for its concerts. The series will run from March 11 through March 15 at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Tickets to Apple's concerts are free and assigned to SXSW attendees through a lottery system.
