Apple Harnesses App Store to Support World Wildlife Fund with Apps for Earth

Apple and several developers joined forces Thursday to support the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in an effort labeled Apps for Earth. From now until April 24th, 100 percent of proceeds from some 27 apps will be donated to the WWF, and Apple CEO Tim Cook helped launch the campaign with a tweet.

The apps include popular games like Angry Birds 2, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Jurassic World: The Game, SimCity BuildIt, and others, as well as communication platform LINE, Tabs & Chords by Ultimate Guitar, and Disney Infinity: Toy Box 3.0, and many more.

Many of those apps are free downloads with in-app purchases.

The campaign includes a banner at the top of the App Store and a dedicated landing page, too. It marks yet another high-profile effort by Apple to support a progressive cause.
