Apple to Host Post-earnings Town Hall Meeting

Apple CEO Tim Cook calls a town hall meeting for all employeesApple CEO Tim Cook is gathering the troops following Wednesday's first fiscal quarter earnings report for a town hall meeting. The event will be held Thursday morning at 10AM Pacific Time and was announced to employees in a congratulatory email.

Apple posted record breaking first quarter revenue at $54.5 billion with a $13.1 billion profit. More that 75 million iOS devices were sold during the quarter with 47.8 million being iPhones and 22.9 million made up from iPads. Mac sales came in at 4.1 million units.

9to5Mac noted that employees received the email Wednesday night after the company's quarterly earnings report last night. Mr. Cook's email said, in part,

Team, We've just reported another record setting quarter, thanks to everyone's incredible hard work and focus. We sold over 75 million iOS devices in the holiday quarter alone, which is a testament to the strength of Apple's innovation. Please join me for an employee communications meeting tomorrow at 10 a.m. Pacific time in the auditorium of De Anza 3.

Employees will be able to ask questions, and since the event will be broadcast for staff, this may be one of the few times front-line staff gets a chance to talk with executives. Apple hosted a similar event last year, so this may be one of Mr. Cook's new company traditions.
