Apple Adds Coldplay & Kasabian to London iTunes Festival

Apple announced Tuesday that Coldplay will be playing London iTunes Festival 2011, which runs from July 1st through July 31st. The popular soft rock act is taking the July 22nd slot — no support act has yet been announced. Ben L’Oncle Soul (July 16th) and The Fixers (July 24th) were added as support acts, plus Kasabian was added as the headliner for July 29th. Only a couple of nights are still listed as To Be Announced, though there are many support slots still available.

The iTunes Festival is an annual event Apple holds in London throughout the month of July, with a different band featured each night. The company has been slowly unveiling the lineup for the event, and several of the bands added today are being billed as support acts for other headliners.

Tickets are given away by a lottery system. You can enter to win tickets for any particular night at the festival’s website — users with a UK iTunes account can also download the iTunes Festival app for iPhone and iPad (non UK customers can see the app by switching to the UK store within iTunes, but it requires an account to download).

We also noted that Gwyneth Paltrow’s studio session appears to have moved from the 4th to the 5th.
