Apple Announces Pre-Orders for Verizon iPhone

Apple announced Wednesday that the company will begin accepting online pre-orders for Verizon iPhones from existing Verizon customers on Thursday, February 3rd. Everyone else will be able to reserve a Verizon iPhone starting on February 9th for in-store pickup starting on February 10th.

We should examine that verbiage a little more closely: The iPhone 4 makes its official debut on Verizon on February 10th. As with iPhone models released on AT&T in the U.S., Apple is specifying that they will be available on a strict first-come, first-served basis, and the company is in no way promising that every phone reserved on the 9th will actually be available on the 10th.

The same is true for the actual pre-orders that start on February 3rd. Apple said that, “Due to high demand, customer orders will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis.”

Verizon is also accepting pre-orders at www.verizonwireless.com/iphone, and Big Red will also have stock on hand for the February 10th rollout.
