Apple Denies CFO Replacement Search

Rumors swirled on Friday that Apple recently tried unsuccessfully to replace CFO Peter Oppenheimer with Laurence Tosi of capital management firm Blackstone Group, according to an anonymous source cited by Reuters. Mr. Tosi reportedly rebuffed the attempt, the source said.

Apple spokesman Steve Dowling told Reuters: “Peter is not leaving Apple. We are not conducting a CFO search. He loves the company and is extremely happy in his role.” Blackstone declined to comment.

Mr. Oppenheimer has been with Apple since 1996. News reports did not make it clear why the company might want to replace him.
