Along with the announcement that the annual Worldwide Developers Conference will happen in June, Apple also opened nominations for the Apple Design Awards. Apple gives out the awards every year at WWDC to highlight iOS and OS X apps that exemplify the best in app design and innovation.

Apps submitted for consideration must be innovative, well designed, and take advantage of the latest features Apple’s hardware and operating systems offer. They must also be available on the App Store or Mac App Store no later than May 1
Apple hasn’t said yet what its award packages will include, although the company always gives winners a trophy along with the prize packages.
This year’s Worldwide Developers Conference runs from June 11 through June 15 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco. Tickets went on Sale Wednesday morning and are priced at US$1,599 each.
