A new phishing scheme is circulating that is trying get your Apple ID credentials. The email is badly written and poorly constructed, but since it pretends to be from Apple and uses the Apple logo, we wanted our readers to be aware of it. This is especially true for those of us with friends and family who are less technically savvy.
Here's the email:
Notice the rampant use of wrong words, the poor grammar, and the stray HTML in one of the links. Phishing emails are cheap, however, and a tiny fraction of recipients fall for them.
In this case, an unobservant recipient might see the Apple logo, skim the bit about their account being "frozen," and jump right to clicking without any further thought.
So, be on the lookout.
