A company called BURG has launched what it calls the "Dick Tracy-like" BURG 12 smartwatch. This device can function as a standalone phone, but the company has also designed it to be paired with both iPhones and Android devices. It's being launched at Walmart for US$199.

With a 240 x 240 resolution display, the BURG 12 can make and receive phone phone calls, as well as text messages, as a standalone device. It also can play music, play videos, show images, has a calendar, contact lists, and a voice recorder. It also has a camera.

The device's batters has 3 days of standby time, but jus 2 to 3 hours of talk time and 3 to 4 hours of media player time. It can be recharged through a micro-USB port in 1 to 3 hours. It comes with a SIM card and $25 of prepaid talk and text.

It also looks good—way better than, say, a Samsung Galaxy Gear; and though it pairs with iOS and Android, the device is not itself powered by Android. So, you know, there's that.

BURG has other smartwatch models, including the 13, 14, 15, 16, 16A, and 16B.
