BusyMac announced the immediate availability of BusyCal 2 for the Mac on Monday. The new version of the calendar app improved iCloud support and calendar sharing, added Smart Filters, and added a menu bar option for creating and viewing events.
BusyCal 2 Adds Mountain Lion Support, improves iCloud support
BusyCal is a replacement for Apple's Calendar app for OS X and uses the same event and task databases so schedules sync properly with other computers and iOS devices through iCloud. The app is compatible with iCloud, Google Calendar and other CalDAV-based servers, and supports sharing calendars over local networks with other BusyCal users, too.
Version 2 added a new Find dialog that searches calendars from any view, a Quick Entry feature with natural language support for creating new events and tasks, 10-day weather forecasts with location support, Mountain Lion Notification Center support, a heat map view for the year calendar, a graphics palette for easier searches when adding graphics to events, and more.
BusyCal 2 requires Mountain Lion, but doesn't require a custom database format, so users that need to sync or share calendars with BusyCal 1.6 users won't need to deal with compatibility issues or upgrade all of their users to the new app version
BusyCal 2 requires OS X is available through Apple's Mac App Store and is priced at US$29.99.
