Intelli Innovations has updated their e-mail notification and filter program, eMail Alert!, to version 1.9. eMail Alert! can monitor a number of remote mailboxes, notify users when they have e-mail, and list who the message is from. According to Intelli Innovations:
eMail Alert! makes keeping your mail in check easy and effective. eMail Alert! will scan your mailboxes on a regular basis, and notify you when new messages are available. eMail Alert! can play sounds, show dialog boxes, activate applications and AppleScripts, and send Apple events to other applications. You can even send short messages to others. All without running your regular e-mail software.
Whatis New in 1.9?
- By user request, the eMail Alert! account preferences file is now encoded to prevent casual onlookers from extracting sensitive data.
- Several bug fixes, including a fixed background color bug for eMail Alert!is global notification box.
- Though eMail Alert! is not yet fully Carbon compliant, this version makes about 50% of the changes that will be necessary to port it over.
