Find My iPhone Update Adds iOS 4.2 Support

Apple released Find My iPhone 1.1 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on Monday. The update added support for the iOS 4.2 update and free Find My iPhone support for the iPad, iPhone 4 and fourth generation iPod touch.

The update also added support for 30 additional languages.

Apple is saying the version 1.1 update is required for all Find My iPhone app users. Find My iPhone was previously available only as a part of the US$99 a year MobileMe service.

Apple announced early on Monday that iOS 4.2 would be released by 10 AM pacific time. Along with AirPlay and AirPrint support, the update also added Free Find My iPhone tracking support for the moste recent iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models.

Find My iPhone is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
