Electronic Arts on Monday announced that the first Sims 3 expansion pack, World Adventures, is in development and will ship for Mac and PC the week of November 16. A mobile version for iPhone, iPod touch, and other platforms will launch in early 2010 with customized features that will be revealed in the coming months, according to EA.
The Sims 3: World Adventures takes players to a variety of well-known places, including Shang Simla, China, Champs Les Sims, France, Al Simhara, Egypt, and others. Their Sims will get the chance to learn new skills, such as mastering martial arts in China, as well as explore landmarks, including Egypt's ancient tombs, and engage in other activities as they meet new Sims, collect objects of importance, and capture their adventures in photos, videos, and stories.
More information, including pricing, system requirements, and exclusive online content to be available only for the expansion pack at launch, will be disclosed at a later date. The full version of The Sims 3 will be required to play, however, and EA said players who purchase World Adventures will receive 1,000 SimPoints to be used in the online Sims 3 Store.
