GameTree Online, the digital distribution arm of Cider developer TransGaming, has made Ubisoft's Petz Sports available. In the spirit of an earlier companion release, Petz: Dogz 2, the game features 18 breeds of dogs, from Chihuahuas to Golden Retrievers, that players play with and train before entering them in competitions on 36 different agility courses.
In Petz Sports, players can also teach their puppies to do over 20 tricks, feed them, take them for walks, and dress them in outfits and accessories. Their animals compete against up to two others on the agility courses.
And they're off!
Petz Sports sells for US$19.95 and, like other Cider-enabled releases, requires an Intel processor. Other system requirements call for Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or 10.5.5, 1GB RAM, 2.1GB hard drive space, and an ATI X1600 or NVIDIA 7300 GT video card, or an Intel integrated graphics chipset. The Intel GMA950 chipset is only supported with Mac OS X version 10.5.
