GarageBand for iOS Adds Audiobus Support

| Product News
Apple released GarageBand 1.4 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on Wednesday with support for a Tasty Pixel's Audiobus app. Audiobus is an iOS app that lets users connect different audio apps together, which means GarageBand can now record audio from Audiobus-compatible third party apps.

Version 1.4 also added the ability to disable snap to grid, and corrected a problem that could cause audio feedback from audio accessories connected to the headphone jack.
GarageBand is priced at US$4.99 and is available at Apple's iTunes-based App Store. Audiobus is regularly priced at $9.99, but is currently on sale for $4.99.

Adding Audiobus support to GarageBand iOS makes the app far more useful because it can now record the audio from other apps. That's great, but it's also a big deal because Apple added a third party API to one of its own iOS apps instead of simply rolling its own solution. That's new for Apple.

I can see why this news would be important for people who make and record music with iOS . . . but what I really, REALLY want is for Apple to allow GarageBand to open ANY audio file either created on or sent to an iOS device.
