Apple designs are easy targets for knock-off products, and the brand new iPad is no exception. A tablet device that looks strikingly similar to the iPad has already appeared in China, but even though the interface looks like Apple’s handiwork, it’s actually running Google’s Android platform, according to Shanzai.com.

No one is saying yet which company is behind the Android-based iPad clone, but word has leaked out that it runs a 600MHz ARM system-on-a-chip setup and sports a 10-inch display. In comparison, iPad uses an Apple designed 1GHz A4 processor and includes a 9.7-inch display.
Just how much this iPad knock-off costs is still a mystery, too. What’s clear, however, is that market interest in what Apple designs is still high, and companies are ready and willing to jump in and design their own Apple-inspired products.
