watchOS 2.0 promises to make our Apple Watches even cooler and more useful. That's great, assuming you can figure out how to get it installed. There isn't an updater utility on Apple Watch, but it isn't difficult to install. Read on to learn how.
watchOS 2.0 is like getting a new Apple Watch
You'll need your iPhone to install watchOS 2.0 on your Apple Watch. Here's what to do:
- Make sure you have at least a 50 percent charge on your Apple Watch battery and that it's connected to its charger.
- Make sure your Apple Watch is in Bluetooth range of your iPhone.
- Launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Use the Apple Watch app on your iPhone to update to watchOS 2.0
- Tap General
- Tap Software Update
- Tap Download
The Software Update option is tucked in the General settings
The updater will ask for your Apple Watch passcode, and it'll give you a basic progress bar showing how far along in the download and install process you are. Your Apple Watch will reboot once the installation is complete.
