The apps you add to your Apple Watch are all accessible with a quick press of the digital crown, but finding exactly what you're looking for can be a little frustrating because their icons are all in a random cluster. Luckily, you can rearrange them to suit your needs, and it's fairly easy to do.
You can tap and hold icons on the Apple Watch to rearrange them, but that's an exercise in patience and frustration. Instead, use your iPhone to organize your Apple Watch apps the way you want. Here's how:
- On your iPhone, launch the Apple Watch app
- Tap the My Watch tab
Use the Apple Watch app on your iPhone to arrange watch app icons
- Tap App Layout
Tap and drag icons to rearrange them
- Now tap and hold to drag app icons where they work best for you. Your changes will automatically appear on your Apple Watch.
The icon arrangement on your Apple Watch automatically updates
I've been experimenting with icon layouts on my Apple Watch. Right now, I have a cluster of the apps I use most often around the clock. Apps that are farther away from the clock are used less often, and the outer rim holds apps I almost never use.
