iDevGames Is Looking For A Few Good Sponsors For Its uDevGame Contest

iDevGames is looking for sponsors for its uDevGame 2003 contest. uDevGame was started in 2001 to increase awareness of the independent Mac game development community, and to give them an opportunity to compete for cash prizes. Sponsors of this yearis contest get a free web banner on iDevGamesi site for six months, a listing in uDevGame press releases, and more. From iDevGames:

Call for Sponsors
Attracting the best independent game developers is crucial to the success of uDevGame ? in terms of better quality games and source code, as well as increased coverage of the contest. Support from you, the Macintosh software or hardware vendor, will help to ensure that uDevGame 2003 makes a large impact in Mac gaming this year. With an attractive gaming platform and new technologies which push the gaming envelope, help us to support the next group of world-class Mac game developers.

Sponsorship is open to all Macintosh vendors, and only requires one donated prize (multiple prizes are more than welcome!) Prizes should be software, hardware, or services that can help to assist entrants in their future development projects. Popular prizes in the past have included utilities, graphics and sound applications, productivity software, books, and Mac peripherals.

Benefits of Sponsorship
As Editor-in-Chief of iDevGames, I want our sponsors to succeed as much as the entrants in the contest. To that end, let me cover some of the benefits that sponsorship will offer:

  • Sponsors are entitled to a free web banner on the iDevGames site for a six month period
  • Sponsors are listed along with their company PR in the contest "Sponsors" page
  • Prizes donated feature links and product PR in the contest "Prizes" page
  • Sponsors are listed in all uDevGame press releases to the media
In addition to the list above, there are some additional benefits for sponsors. Since winning developers will utilize prizes to create future game titles, the opportunity for your product to be cited as a "critical application" in the game?s development review (called a game "postmortem") is a great way to garner free PR. Winning developers are often the best-of-the-best, and having your prize in their hands means a new product evangelist on your side. Finally, winning developers are extremely open to reviewing the prizes that they have won. With over 500 developers, musicians, and artists in our forum and yearly increasing site traffic, these are great opportunities to reach out to a large audience.
