Apple will begin selling the iPad 2 in its retail stores at 5PM local time in its retail stores on Friday, March 11, and customers that want to order online can fire up their Web browser at 1AM pacific time.

The company also confirmed that it will have iPad 2 inventory in all of its U.S. stores, and that it will be available at AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon Wireless, Walmart and select Apple Authorized Resellers on launch day. As a bonus for shoppers that buy at one of Apple’s own retail locations, store employees will offer personal setup service for new iPads.
Apple introduced the iPad 2 at a special media event several days ago. The new model is thinner than the original, includes front and rear-facing digital cameras, a built-in gyroscope, GSM and CDMA 3G wireless data support, black or white bezels, and more. The iPad 2 is priced starting at US$499.
