Bjango's new iStat Menus 5 is out with features OS X Mavericks users have been hoping for like per-app power usage, compressed memory support, per-app disk read and write stats, and more. OS X Yosemite users get to share in on the new features, too, plus version 5 supports menubar dark mode, too.

iStat Menus is a Mac app that shows statistics about your computer in a compact menubar interface. It offers details on memory and power usage, network bandwidth usage, CPU load, and hardware temperature sensor data.

Version 5 sports a redesigned interface that's easier to read, menubar graphs can display with light or dark backgrounds, and menubar icons are cleaner, too. The new version also offers more network-related details such as your router address, subnet mask, DNS, and MAC address. You can also see WiFi signal to noise ratios, wireless network channel, and more.

iStat Menus 5's clock now shows the current time along with sunrise and sunset times, dawn and dusk, sun azimuth and altitude, light maps for over 120,000 cities, and moon phases. The app also includes localization for many languages such as Arabic, Catalan, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and more.

iStat Menus 5 is priced at US$16, or $9.99 as an upgrade from version 3 or version 4. It's available for download at the Bjango website.
