Logic Pro X gets New Drummers, AirDrop Support

Apple gave pro audio editors some love on Wednesday with the release of Logic Pro X 10.1. The update for the audio editing app for the Mac added AirDrop and MailDrop support for file sharing, 10 new drummers, and more.

The Drummer feature creates drum tracks for you based on different musical styles. The update adds House, Techno, Dubstep, Trap, and several other new styles, plus it improves control over drummer settings.

Users can now use a single mouse gesture to create note sequences with the Piano Roll Editor's new Brush tool, and you can compress or expand timing for selected notes, the sound library now includes over 200 synth patches and 10 classic Mellotron instruments, the mixer supports remote mic control, and more.

Logic Pro X is priced at US$199.99 and is available through Apple's Mac App Store. The update is free for Logic Pro X version 10 users.
