Mac OS X 10.6.6 Developer Build Improves App Store Support

Apple released a new build of Mac OS X 10.6.6 to developers late on Thursday. The latest build for the upcoming Mac OS update added App Store receipt renewing and fetching support for developers.

Apple announced earlier this year that it will be opening an App Store for Mac OS X applications, much like its App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch apps. The company has been working to build support into Snow Leopard and plans to launch its online Mac application portal soon.

Along with App Store receipt support, the updated build also addressed issues with Spotlight, printing, the Dock, OpenGL and Bonjour.

Mac OS X 10.6.6 build 10J537 is available for download by Apple Developer program members at the Apple Web site.
