The Long Version
You asked, we delivered. Yes, we've gotten your emails and your tweets, and we know you're looking for us here at TMO to deliver on a hotel deal for you for the upcoming Macworld / iWorld Expo. We wouldn't want to disappoint you, so... here we are. Our deal for you this year mimics (exactly) the deal we had for you in the past, as we've again partnered with the fantastically-close-and-convenient-to-Moscone West InterContinental San Francisco. We've stayed there ourselves and while it's not cheap (by any stretch), The InterContinental is a great place, the high-speed Internet was higher-speed-than-most-hotels-these-days, and it’s less than 300 steps door-to-door from The InterContinental to Moscone West. You don’t even have to cross a street. That can make a big deal in the rain. And sometimes in January and February in San Francisco it rains.
The Deal
Pricing went up $11 this year to $236 (plus San Francisco's insane amount of hotel taxes) per night. If that's worth it to you (and based on pricing elsewhere in close proximity to the Moscone West, it may, by relative pricing definition, be worth it to you) then we've worked out a no-brainer of a deal. As long as you book through TMO’s special link, you are guaranteed to get an upgraded room there. The regular rooms aren't bad but, hey, why not get the upgraded room at the same price.
To note: Your initial confirmation will not reflect the upgrade, but the hotel and our friends at IDG have assured us that this is the case. If it makes you feel better, please email us your confirmation number and we’ll follow-up with the hotel right before the show to ensure you’re well taken care of.
