myPANTONE Adds Color Charts, More to iPhone

Pantone announced the immediate availability of myPANTONE for the iPhone and iPod touch on Monday. The application lets users browse Pantone color matching libraries and build color palettes from digital photos.

myPANTONE includes PMS, Goe, Pastels and Fashion + Home color libraries, and shows color swatch sRGB, HTML and Lab color values. Users can build color palettes that are sharable via email or with Adobe Creative Suite apps and QuarkXPress, and with the myPANTONE.com Web site. The app can also find the dominant colors in an image and build palettes with the five closest matching Pantone colors.

Users can tag color palettes with text and voice notations as well as GPS coordinates, and they can send notifications to their Twitter and Facebook accounts when they build new palettes.

myPANTONE is priced at US$9.99 and is available for download at Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
