Realmac Software announced the immediate availability of RapidWeaver 5 for Mac OS X on Thursday. The new version of the Web site design tool added support for building HTML and XML site maps, along with the ability to bookmark and manage FTP servers.

Version 5 also added a projects window for accessing favorite and recently accessed Web site projects, six new themes and a theme consolidation tool, and new Addons management tool. It also includes improved support for Google Analytics and GoSquared LiveStats, an updated user interface, and more.

RapidWeaver 5 is priced at US$79 and is available at the Realmac Software Web site. Updates from version 4 and earlier cost $39.

When I was in Rapidweaver, I click on software update and it said:

RapidWeaver 4.4.2 is currently the newest version available.

So does this mean that Rapidweaver 5 can be run at the same time as Rapidweaver 4, or is this not a good idea?

Rapidweaver 4 wasn’t able to deal with ‘sandwiches’ over 100MB - is this now fixed? Or is the best solution to still make multiple ‘subsites’?
