Safari Update Addresses Security Issues, More

Apple released Safari 5.0.3 and Safari 4.1.3 on Thursday with fixes for several security-related bugs. The update patches Webkit and Javascript flaws, and addressed other application issues, too.

The Safari updates fix several issues where maliciously crafted Web sites could let an attacker run arbitrary code without a user’s permission via Webkit flaws, offers more reliable pop-up blocking, fixes a problem where Flash 10.1 could allow Flash content to overlap other elements on a Web page, improved accuracy for Top Hit results in the Address Field, improved Netflix support, and more.

Safari 5.0.3 and Safari 4.1.3 are free and available via Apple’s Software Update application.
