Ambrosia Software on Tuesday updated its science-fiction strategy shooter Escape Velocity (EV) Nova as a Universal Binary capable of running natively on Intel and PowerPC Macs. Version 1.1.0 also includes bug fixes and feature improvements.
EV Nova is the final game in the Escape Velocity trilogy. In it, players travel the Milky Way, accepting missions, trading commodities, and purchasing and upgrading spacecraft as they deal with various warring factions. They can play various ways, choosing the role of a trader, a bounty hunter, or even a warlord bent on conquering the galaxy. They can also decide to follow one of EV Nova's six storylines and restrict their activities to a single faction's cause.
Mac OS X version 10.3.9 and 128MB RAM are required. This is a free update for registered users. EV Nova sells for US$30.
