Spotify has announced Spotify Family, a way for up to five family members to each have individual accounts and more importantly, no longer commingle play history and recommendations.
This new service has appealing pricing. A single user added to the default USD $9.99/mo account would become the two-person Family plan for $14.99, with up to to $29.99 for five users instead of the $50 they would pay for five individual accounts.
For those not keeping track of all those music streaming services, Spotify is not the first to offer family subscriptions. Rdio rolled out Family Billing last summer, and iTunes Family Sharing allows music to be shared amongst all family members.
Spotify plans to roll out Spotify Family over the next few weeks around the world.
