The Mac Observer's Get Into Macworld Expo with Your Inner Bard contest is closed, and we have picked our two winning haiku entries. Congratulations to Doug Grinbergs and Carrie Skinfill -- their entries won them passes to Macworld Expo 2009 in January.
Our Power Tools Conference pass winner was Doug Grinbergs and his epic haiku. Here is Doug's winning entry:
off to the airport
ridiculously early
Denver to San Fran
buy a MUNI pass
a thirty-minute BART ride
Market and Powell
homeless folks abound
cable car tourists in line
drop stuff at hotel
off to Moscone
another Macworld Expo!
Wednesday - just past noon
stop to get my badge
with many other Mac fans
down the stairs we go
hustle and bustle
thousands of Mac faithful here
seems overwhelming
bright lights everywhere
seems like noise competition
put in earplugs now?
North Hall and South Hall
underground tunnel walking
hey, some folks from home!
short walk to Whole Foods
comfort foods and healthy drinks
blood sugar restored
walk back to the halls
take some pics along the way
some Flickr-worthy?
daylight break was good
back to artificial light
and Moscone air
aisles and aisles of booths
expo overload for some
somehow, I'll survive
rather than wing it
time to get out the show guide
visit UG lounge
interesting talk
good use of limited time
thanks, good MUG people!
back to the show floor
mobs at Apple booths now less
cool new Mac goodies!
friends on booth duty?
Murray, Laurel, or others?
no, maybe later
must bug ADC
Bug Reporter gripes rehashed
please make it better
bathroom break, wash hands
*still* no hot running water
like cold forest stream
great to see you, John!
dinner at Greens tomorrow?
how I love their fare!
bus to Fort Mason
fantastic curry dishes
unforgettable!
Ghirardelli Square
mermaids, splashing water, lights
what shutter setting?
stroll to the bay shore
rotating Alcatraz light
pierces the darkness
wander around town
cable car rides and fun pics
much to do at night
more expo days, then
East Coast-bound triple 7
Denver by midnight
parking lot pavement
bunny rabbit hops along
always makes me smile
forty-five minutes
oh, it's good to be back home
backcountry awaits
Our Users Conference pass winner was Carrie Skinfill. Her haiku most likely will make her husband very happy, too:
A pass for husband
He thrives on Macworld Expo
I'm the genius wife
The reader response to the contest was amazing, every entry was worthy of an award, and we didn't feel right sending anyone away empty handed -- so we aren't: Every contest entrant that's attending Macworld Expo will receive two tickets to TMO's Cirque du Mac 6.0 party. Contest participants will receive an email soon with additional details.
