A double decker tour bus crashed into an Apple Store construction site Friday afternoon in Union Square in San Francisco in an incident that involved multiple cars, at least one cyclist, and ended up sending some 20 people to the hospital.

According to the NBC affiliate in San Francisco, the bus began moving erratically roughly two blocks away from the crash site, including sudden accelerations and shifts in direction. The bus hit one cyclist before crashing, and that crash involved multiple cars. Witnesses cited by NBC said the bus was speeding out of control.
The site of the crash was Stockton and Powell, and the scaffolding in the photograph above is part of the construction site for a new Apple Store. That location is near to Apple's current Union Square location on Stockton.
As of this writing, the police are investigating the crash and don't know what caused it. There's additional information in the video below.
