German developer Berbie Software announced an update for its TrailRunner application on Monday. Version 1.9, a five megabyte download, can now, among other improvements, directly download GPS recordings from Trails, a GPS recording application available for the iPhone 3G handset.

Use TrailRunner to collect, edit and publish your trips and adventures." said Felix Lamouroux, developer of Trails for iPhone
TrailRunner integrates a wide range of GPS, mapping and workout related scopes into a simple to use application. These include a seamless integration with online services to display topographic maps, satellite photos and elevation data. Easy workout import and geo visualization for Garmin ForeRunner and Edge devices.
The program can also utilize workout import and geo matching for running devices like Apple's iPhone 3G, the Apple + Nike iPod Sport Kit, Nike+ SportBan and assorted Polar heart-rate monitors. Other features include export of route directions as NanoMaps for color iPods or cellphones, import and export of various file formats and integration with free digital mapping communities like GPSies.com and OpenStreetMap.org
TrailRunner 1.9 is free but accepts donations.
