Twitter Hires Former Apple PR Veteran Natalie Kerris as VP of Communications

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted that his company hired Natalie Kerris as VP of Communications, confirming weeks of speculation and rumor the two parties were close to a hiring deal. According to Re/code, Mrs. Kerris will be reporting to Twitter General Counsel Vijaya Gadde, who has been overseeing communications for several months while Twitter looked for someone to fill the role.

Mrs. Kerris was a 14 year veteran of Apple's PR team, and she left in April of 2015, shortly after her peer Steve Dowling was promoted to VP of Communications at Apple (after a period holding the title on an interim basis). He replaced the legendary Katie Cotton, who departed Apple in May of 2014.

Natalie Kerris's response:

Mrs. Kerris hasn't been hugely active on Twitter, having posted just 314 tweets as of this writing. She has been much more active for the last two months, with multiple tweets per day during the last 6 weeks.

She is one of the most talented and successful PR executives in the tech world, and it will be interesting to see how skills developed at Apple—a company whose reputation was built on tightly controlling access—will translate to Twitter—a company criticized in the past for failing "to tell its own story."
