Twitter for Mac was greeted with great fanfare, but the company has been slow to update it. We're pleased to see any improvements in the software, and hope this update in some way signals a renewed interest in its Mac-app presence.

I’m confused. I thought Twitter was trying to push everyone to use their web site:

The bottom line: Twitter wants subscribers to use its Web interface, and nothing else. The company has been systematically shutting out developers and even kills off its own platform-native client apps.

A welcome upgrade, and about time. I had d/c’d all use of Twitter for the Mac after getting my RD MBP.

It may prove to be a useful app, now that Twitter will d/c TweetDeck, my favourite Mac Twitter client. Not always having uninterrupted internet access, it’s useful to have an app on one’s hard drive.
