Twitter Officially Rolls Out Mute Features, How to Use It

| How-To

Twitter has officially rolled out a ‘mute’ button across official clients and the website, according to the Twitter blogMuting a user means you won’t see their tweets in your timeline, and no more notifications. A muted user can still retweet or reply or favorite your tweets, you just won’t know about it. This lasts as long as the user is muted, it can be undone at any time.

Twitter Mute don't talk so much

From the post:

To mute a user from a Tweet on your iOS or Android device or on Twitter for web tap more and then mute @username. To mute someone from their profile page, tap the gear icon on the page and choose mute @username.

Due to the number of Twitter users, this is a phased rollout, so if you don't see the option on your account yet, be patient and it should be sowing up soon.

Howdy-do Twitter! Welcome to 2008! Here’s your original Kindle and Slumdog Millionaire DVD. I know, Apple’s making phones now, it’s crazy. Listen, I know this sounds kind of weird, but maybe you should try joining the rest of us in 2014. Some of the features in Twitter clients these days are pretty fab, you might want to pay attention to those and think about implementing them on a slightly shorter timeline than it took you to work out muting users. And since I’m asking for stuff, can you bring back the option where I can see replies from someone even if I don’t follow the other person? Thanks.
