U2's New Album Debuts on iTunes Store as Free Download

U2 fans that also happen to be iTunes Store customers got a special treat at the end of Apple's special media event on Tuesday when the band closed out the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch introduction, and then announced that its new album will be available exclusively through iTunes as a free download. The album will be available exclusively through the iTunes Store through October 13.

Apple CEO Tim Cook called the album launch the biggest in history because it'll be available to every iTunes Store customer in 119 countries. It'll also be available via iTunes Radio and Beats Music.

Mr. Cook said U2's new album, Songs of Innocence, will show up automatically in user's purchased list. You can find it by launching iTunes and clicking the Purchased link from the iTunes Store on your computer, or by looking in Albums in the music app on your iOS device.
