Videogame Based on Pixar Movie UP Hits Stores

The videogame version of Disney/Pixar's new movie "UP," which debuts this Friday, was released to retail stores on Tuesday. The game follows the adventures of elderly curmudgeon Carl Fredericksen and his energetic sidekick, eight-year-old Wilderness Explorer Russell, as they traverse the dangerous table-top tepui mountains of South America.

Whether playing solo or with a friend, players must use Carl and Russell's skills, such as Carl's cane and Russell's mirror, to defeat enemies and overcome challenges. Dug the talking dog and Kevin the flightless prehistoric bird offer assistance when necessary. Players can also unlock bonus content by completing Russell's merit badge tasks.

The Mac/Windows version of UP sells for US$19.99. The game is also available for a variety of videogame consoles and handhelds.
