Virgin Australia will be supporting iOS 6's Passbook feature when the new OS ships some time this fall. Passbook will let users keep loyalty cards, movie tickets, boarding passes, and more grouped together in a single app.
Virgin Australia: We're supporting Passbook
The airline confirmed it would support Passbook through a post on its Twitter feed reading, "The rumors are true, we'll be supporting Passbook for iPhone -- more to come soon!"
Apple showed off the feature during the keynote presentation at its annual World Wide Developers Conference earlier this year, complete with sample boarding passes from United and Amtrack. The app will also track your location and display alerts if boarding gates change after checking in.
Apple hasn't said exactly when iOS 6 will ship, but there's a good chance we'll earn more at the company's special media event scheduled for Wednesday, September 12. The next generation iPhone will likely make an appearance, and The Mac Observer will be on location covering the event live.
