Virtual Programming Releases Mystery Game The Abbey

Virtual Programming on Wednesday released the Mac version of The Abbey, a point-and-click mystery game set in a remote Medieval monastery, where two men discover evidence of strange goings-on and must learn more about a plot that could affect the Catholic Church itself. The game combines 2D and 3D graphics, with an animation style reminiscent of Disney movies and a storyline that shares some elements in common with Umberto Eco's classic novel The Name of the Rose.

The Abbey also features 20 locations spread across its 20 hours of gameplay, with a 70-minute soundtrack recorded by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The game sells for US$19.99, with system requirements calling for Mac OS X version 10.4.11, an Intel processor, 512MB RAM, 128MB video RAM, and 3GB of hard drive space.
