Vodafone to Sell iPhone in UK, Ireland in 2010

Cell service provider Vodafone announced on Tuesday that it will begin selling Apple's iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in the United Kingdom and Ireland sometime in early 2010. The announcement makes Vodafone the second company to score a deal that digs into what used to be O2's exclusive iPhone territory.

Vodafone's announcement comes on the heels of Orange revealing that it penned a deal with Apple to sell the iPhone in the U.K. Orange is also merging operations with T-Mobile in the U.K., potentially giving the combined company a wider reach than O2.

Vodafone hasn't announced an official launch date yet, but Vodafone UK and Vodafone Ireland can sign up at the company Web site to receive additional information once it is available.
