Google Open Sources TensorFlow Library for Machine Intelligence

Google announced Tuesday that it was open-sourcing TensorFlow, a library for machine intelligence, an aspect of artificial intelligence. TensorFlow was originally developed by the Google Brain Team under the company's Machine Intelligence group. It was designed for "conducting machine learning and deep neural networks research," but Google said it is general enough for wider applications. Google has followed much of the academic world in making some of its AI-related research open source, in contrast to Apple, which has so far kept its AI research closely held.
