Roli Seaboard RISE's Modern Take on a Musical Keyboard

It's interesting just much of the analog world continues to inform the world of music. Take the keyboard. Sure, there was the keytar, but even the most advanced digital/electronic keyboard is really an analog keyboard minus the physical connections to wires and levers that pull hammers that strike strings. The folks at Roli may be changing that, though, with a device they're calling the Seaboard RISE. It's an interesting mix of control surface with only the barest of nods to the aspect of an analog keyboard that is necessary. I haven't played with one yet, but the video below makes it look very interesting. It uses MIDI over USB or MIDI over Bluetooth, and it works with Mac and Windows. It's not cheap, though, and is available for pre-order for $799.
