At last, someone has answered one of the great burning questions of modern times: what would happen if someone remade Space Invaders as a side scroller? That's just what SixHourSoft has done with the latest addition to its Space Cadet Defender game, Space Cadet Defender: Recon Invaders. These folks managed to suck up HOURS of my time with the original Space Cadet, the best remake of the 70's classic, Space Invaders. The new game takes those same concept, but transformed them into a side scroller blaster, and it's even more fun. The game is a hybrid app for iPhone and iPad, and it's free to play. You can buy in-game tokens (medals) to boost your abilities, but I personally have never found it necessary to do so. That makes it an insanely good value for how much fun it is to play. In fact, I might buy some medals just to support the game. It's that good.
