I’m going to bang my head against my computer desk until it bleeds. Is this potentially harmful? Gee, I don’t know…no study has been released on the topic yet.

Fortunately for iPod users concerned about their hearing (note to iPod addicts: I said FORTUNATELY FOR iPOD USERS CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR HEARING), there is a brandy-new study just making the headlines about the effects of iPods, loud volume settings, and hearing loss.

No other than WebMD reports the study’s shocking findings , which conclude not only that cranked iPods can, indeed, damage hearing ( who knew?...get it? Who knew?), but also the following absolutely shocking, must-have-needed-a-study-to-figure-this-out finding:

The key finding: The higher the volume, the more you should limit your listening time, with the recommended limits varying somewhat depending on the type of headphones you’re using.

    Shocking, no?

Next they’ll publish a study that says driving nails into your eyes could be damaging to your sight.  rolleyes
