Selling a MacBook Air - re-install software HOW?

I am waiting, with very little patience for amy MacBook Pro Retina to arrive.

Once here, I intend selling my iMac 2010 and my MacBook Air 2011 machines.

The issue is the MacBook Air.

My intention is to use Filevault under Lion to encrypt the disk, then through iCloud to remotely erase this machine, which I believe is basically deleting the encryption key.

This all sounds good and fine.

My question is, does this also delete the Lion recovery partition, I am truly hoping the answer is no.

I am assuming that providing the recovery partition is unaffected, that I could then boot with Command R into recovery, reformat, the main drive of the Air and then re-install Lion onto it, all clean and none of my sensitive data anywhere near the machine.

But it all hinges on the recovery partition still being available after the remote wipe.

Does anyone know for sure on this pleased?

I do not know for sure, but I would agree with you that the recovery partition (and, indeed, the ability to reinstall Lion from the web) would be maintained.
