Problem using printer following update to Yosemite
-
Since updating to Yosemite my Kodak printer has stopped working.
I have been following the Apple community and many people are experiencing the same problem on a range of different printer.
I can not get a response from Apple or Kodack, does anyone have any suggestions????
Frank -
Kodack have now been in touch, I tried their suggested fixes before calling with an id number and after further discussion about the problem they confirmed that this is a software problem and their development team are working on a new driver that is compatible with Yosemite. They will get back to me when its ready and I will keep you posted.
Kodak are aware of the problem for all Kodak printer users and aware of the need for an urgent update on their software.

Further to the above, I have followed the Apple Support Community and the following fix has worked for me and allowed my printer to work as it did with pre Yosemite update.

Re: Printing on Yosemite is anyone haveing problems?
in response to MisyBlue
Depends on the type of your problem. If your problem is Sandbox related then it might fix the issue, like it did it for me. Either way you can give it a shot.
Here is the detailed instructions again (after my correction which caused Apple to remove the original posting in the first place).
Changing the Sandbox
1. in Spotlight Type Terminal and then press enter.
This should bring up the terminal window/program.
2. In the Terminal type sudo sh -c ‘echo “Sandboxing Relaxed” >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf’
It will ask for your password.
3) After that type following: sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
After that if you are lucky the printer driver should start to work. (which it did in my case)
I hope this works out for you, if not then you can do following to revert the changes:
In case you want/have to revert the changes:
1) Open the terminal as usual (Spotlight type Terminal hit enter and wait for the terminal window to appear)
2) then type: cd /etc/cups
3) then type: sudo nano cups-files.conf
4) ‘type in your password’
This brings up a command line editor which you can use to edit the file
5) Remove the last line which Says Sandboxing Relaxed
6) press ‘ctrl x’
And then confirm with y when being asked if you want to save the changes
7) after that type sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
After that the changes should be reverted and you are back to stock behavior. -
Why has Apple withdrawn the posting in the apple support community relating to this temporary fix???????

Its been some time now and still no updated drivers from Kodak, doesn’t say a lot for the quality of their developers or their customer service. We won’t be buying another Kodak product and expect others will feel the same.Watch out Windows operators.
